The AATSL was established in 1987. It is the leading professional institute conducting Accountancy Examinations at Technician Level in Sri Lanka, most suited for G.C.E. (O.L.) & (A.L. – any stream) Students. There are over 30,000 Registered Students.
AAT Examinations are held at 03 levels – Foundation, Intermediate and Final, in all the three media, twice a year in June and December. The duration of each level is 06 months. The three levels can be completed in 1 or 1 ½ years by G.C.E. (A\L) & (O\L) Students, and in 1 year by G.C.E. (A.L.) Commerce Students.

There are Registered Private Education Centres spread throughout the Country which conduct classes for the AAT Examinations and Registered District Information Centres to provide the necessary information to Students and Parents.
The AATSL has published “Self-Study Texts”, “Suggested Answers for past Question Papers” and “Past Question Papers”, for all subjects to assist the students.
AATSL Exams are a fast track to become a Chartered Accountant or Chartered Management Accountant, obtain a University Degree (Management / Administration / Commerce / Law/ Computer), or gain admission to a foreign University, and to get employment.
The Passed Finalists on completion of two years of Practical Training are eligible to apply for the Membership of the Association - MAAT, a recognized Professional Qualification.
